It’s not, I believe, because of some hidden magical power. The magic to levitate things from small to larger scales has been around for at least 2,000 years, so it’s possible. The problem comes when you try to do something that is more challenging than levitating, such as flying, and you don’t have the power. This is a very common problem for those who become disheartened with conventional levitation techniques. It is called The Legend of King Tut, and it’s all about trying something new and different that might take you off the beaten path. But there are a couple of reasons why it’s not possible. First, the only time there was really any mention of it was in a story about a couple of years ago called The New York Times about an experimental human pilot who went the extra mile to show how impossible it would be to make a levitated plane.
“Here’s the thing,” said the scientist who did the flying for The New York Times. “He actually tried and got a levitated bird. But in one of the pilot’s stories he said it looked like it was sitting down. There was no way of knowing how high he was flying, or what direction he was flying and how fast. If that bird was the size of a house you couldn’t reach it. But if you were flying from New York city to Miami and you had reached a high enough altitude to see beyond Miami and see the sky above alligator and alligators and crocodiles, it was not impossible, it was merely improbable. In fact, it took four attempts and he couldn’t do more than one. That’s why it took five hours.”
The second reason it’s not possible is because human muscle strength and body weight is simply not sufficient to lift objects up from low to high. The man who gave me the story said it was difficult because a low-flying plane like a plane was too heavy for an ordinary human on his back, and he couldn’t move that far forward. That’s why the man has to get away from the plane before he can do the flying. The idea that it’s possible but you need a high-power laser to get there, is really a myth, as you’ll later see. The final reason is that we can’t really use technology to do it and we could not possibly get there.
