A sense of timing and how to communicate effectively at a high-speed
A sense of how to collaborate.
What skills do I lack?
So here I have two questions. What do I lack to be a graphic designer? What skills do I need to be successful?
There is nothing wrong with lacking some of these skills. However, I believe, in general, we gain more from mastering these than from being poor at them. The good thing is that there are resources for help finding those.
First is learning HTML and CSS. This is actually where most of the work is in the business and the market will only have a limited number of websites that you really want to be a part of. However, there are still great schools and resources out there to learn what you will need to be a successful graphic designer.
In addition to HTML and CSS, you will also need some basic user-experience design skills. This will come in many shapes and sizes.
An experience working as a graphic designer will help you learn more about UX design processes and how to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. The skills you learn can also provide you with some good opportunities to work in design roles throughout your business.
As for the skills you don’t need, you should always remember, your client needs value and you are doing them a favour by providing an outstanding product. So don’t be afraid of learning some less-than-optimal skills.
Which graphic designer is right for me?
